Teraflex 2.5" lift with Falcon Shocks - JK Wrangler

I recently received a wonderful package on my doorstep. Something I have been waiting to purchase for a long time. You guessed it, the Teraflex 2.5" lift kit with their Falcon 2.1 monotube shocks. These shocks look fantastic in the box and they look just as good on the car. I have been driving on them for about a month now and I can say they are a very capable yet firm shock. Significantly firmer than the factory ride.

You will note that the Falcon shock body is significantly larger (wider) than the factory shock and longer to fit with the coil lift. The body is constructed from anodized aluminium and the overall finish is as good as it gets.

The Teraflex sway bar links and shocks are as you would expect, longer. The rear spring pictured appears less progressive than the factory spring. The kit also comes with front and rear bump stop extensions, a rear track bar relocation bracket and rear brake line extensions.

The Terafex kit is comprehensive and the quality of parts was impressive. The one part of kit notably missing is a solution to extend the front brake lines. If we installed the lift without undoing and dismantling the factory front brake line holders, the lines would have been torn apart at full drop.

Teraflex do offer a kit know as the "Universal 1-Hole Front Brake Line Anchor Kit". We purchased and installed them and they work great. They are flexible yet hold the brake line in place firmly and allow you to route the brake line to the rear the shock body and out of danger.

We recently tested this lift kit over a few hundred kilometers of highway driving, towing a caravan (yes the JK can tow a caravan) and bombing through the sand dunes. We applied serious speed over very rough terrain in the sand dunes and the shocks kept the Jeep composed and absorbed the big impacts well. On the highway the Jeep felt much firmer and less affected by wind at highway speeds.

To wrap up this post, we have a great before and after photo... Its worth noting that the Jeep has heavy (ARB) steel front and rear bars plus a winch up front in both photos. The tyres are stock 31" Goodyear Wranglers.
